The LTMusA syllabus caters to teachers who have already achieved the ATMusA (or a comparable qualification). It delves deeper into effective teaching practices and expands on the knowledge required to confidently deliver Level 2 AMEB syllabuses for their chosen instrument or voice.

Exam requirements

Pre-entry requirements

- Successful completition of ATMusA (or equivalent)
- Submition of 5-10 recent (within the past 5 years) exam reports for students they've prepared. These reports should document grades of 'B' or higher on AMEB Comprehensive practical examinations. At least three reports must be from Level 2 exams, showcasing a variety of grade results.

It is recommended candidates:

- Should be at least 21 years of age.
- A pass in AMusA Practical (or equivalent)
- A credit in Grade 6 Theory, Music Craft or Musicianship (or equivalent)

Section II

The folio: candidates must submit a portfolio (folio) for assessment before taking the practical exam in Section III .

Passing this portfolio submission is a mandatory step for progressing to the practical exam.

Section III

A two-part consecutive exam held on a single day (2.25 hours total).

Practical Examination (1 hour)

Part B.

Performance of Teaching Repertoire (1.25 hours)

How much does an exam cost?

For all practical and written exam prices, contact your local AMEB State Office. Online exam prices are available in SCORE or on your state's AMEB Connect page (Victoria or NSW/ACT).

How long will my exam run for?

The length of your exam will depend on the syllabus and grade. See Regulation 13 in the Manual of Syllabuses for a list of exam times.
