We're here to help

Updated 23 March 2020

The world of teaching and music education has changed dramatically with the global pandemic of COVID-19. All of us at AMEB Federal Office hope that you, your students and colleagues are coping with the new environment we find ourselves living in.

With some schools closing, parents keeping children at home, plus physical-distancing making teaching as we know it difficult, online platforms are where music teaching will head to, at least in the short term.

At ameb.edu.au/here-to-help have compiled some of the ways we are providing assistance to teachers, students, parents and music lovers throughout this time. Over the coming days and weeks, we will be sharing more resources to help teachers continue to teach the AMEB and Rockschool syllabuses, plus provide important information regarding practical exams.

The team at the Federal Office are working remotely but are still able to answer any questions you may have via phoneemail or our social media pages

In the meantime, please stay safe, take care and be kind to yourselves and others.

A message to our community regarding COVID-19

16 March 2020

As the situation with respect to COVID-19 continues to evolve, the health and safety of our AMEB community – students, teachers, examiners and staff alike – remains our highest priority.

We are closely monitoring developments and will continue to be guided by the advice and directives of the Australian Government. We will take appropriate steps to protect our community when and as needed, and will keep you updated.

At this time all AMEB Federal Office services continue to operate as usual. This includes our online theory exams platform and customer support channels. Online shop orders are being fulfilled, although our freight service providers have advised that there may be some delays with deliveries.

AMEB State Offices remain open at the time of writing, and we are working closely with our colleagues in those offices to understand and prepare for the potential impact of COVID-19 on practical examinations.

We understand that this may be an unsettling period for members of our community. Music can play an important role in these uncertain times, offering comfort, calm and a sense of connection.

If there is anything we can do to support you or if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact our customer service team at online@ameb.edu.au.

Stay safe, take care, and be kind to yourselves and others.
