AMEB is
the most widely used assessment system for Speech and
Drama in Australia. Highly trained examiners, specialists
in their field, assess students from Preliminary to Diploma
levels. Detailed written reports are provided for all
practical examinations
SYLLABUS
INFORMATION
Speech
and Drama syllabuses are not available for download
from this site. All syllabuses current for 2007-2008
are published in the 2007-2006 Manual of Syallbuses:
Speech and Drama. This publication is available
from your AMEB State Office.
Examinations
All information regarding Speech examinations can
be found in bulletins issued by the AMEB office in your
State.
Use of Syllabuses
Candidates are reminded that no combinations of
syllabuses may be presented for examination. This applies
to old and new syllabuses, and Teacher and Performer
diplomas.
Use of Old and New Syllabus
Drama and Performance
Until further notice, candidates may choose to present for examination using either the Drama and Performance syllabus or the Speech and Drama - Practical syllabus (2003-2004). It is not possible to present for examination using a combination of the old and new syllabuses.
A year's notice will be given through State Bulletins and this website before the withdrawal of the Speech and Drama - Practical syllabus (2003-2004).
Voice and Communication
During 2007-2008, candidates may choose to present for examination using either the Voice and Communication syllabus or the Speech in Action syllabus (2003-2004). It is not possible to present for examination using a combination of the old and new syllabuses.
A year's notice will be given through State Bulletins and this website before the withdrawal of the Speech in Action syllabus (2003-2004).
Theory Syllabus
Speech and Performance Theory
– Question 4, Level 2.
Question 4, Level 2 of the Speech and Performance Theory
now offers Theatre History (Question 4a) and Communciation
/Skills Theory (Question 4b).
Candidates sitting for the practical syllabus of Drama
and Performance will be examined on Question 4a.
Candidates sitting for the practical syllabus of Voice and Communciation will be examined on Question
4b.
Out of Print Items
From time to time publications listed in the syllabuses may become out of print for reasons beyond the control of the AMEB. Teachers and candidates are advised to conatct libraries where such titles may be available for reference.
