The
AMEB is proud to announce the arrival of Music Craft,
the exciting new approach to music theory. Music Craft
makes music theory real through a comprehensive syllabus
and publications package that is responsive to busy
instrumental teachers who know that theory is foundational
to the developing musician. Music Craft represents the
most significant revitalisation of theoretical pedagogy
the AMEB has undertaken in almost 40 years. Music Craft
draws on the expertise of scholars, teachers and students
from around Australia, bringing the teaching of theory
into line with international best practice and preparing
students for a lifetime of engagement with music.
Combining
aural training and written exercises in forty lessons,
Music Craft publications are suitable to be used through
the school year in classrooms as well as private studios.
Each Student Workbook features extensive drilling
and revision and is accompanied by two aural training
CDs, underlining the importance of developing aural
acuity as a counterpart to our understanding of theoretical
concepts.
Each
grade level is supplemented by a Teachers Guide
that explains all the concepts encountered in the Student
Workbook in easy-to-understand language. Each Teachers
Guide contains a Thematic Outline and Question Maps
for easy referencing of theoretical concepts, as well
as all the answers to the questions in the Student
Workbook.
All
teachers know that theory is the key to understanding
the music students love and enjoy. AMEBs new syllabus
and publications make learning theory a breeze.
Music
Craft is the theory behind musical success.
